Event Description

Project Toward No Drug Abuse (TND) is a highly interactive program designed to help high school youth (14 to 19 years old) resist substance use. A school-based program, TND consists of twelve 40- to 50-minute lessons that include motivational activities, social skills training, and decisionmaking components that are delivered through group discussions, games, role-playing exercise, videos, and student worksheets. Project TND teaches participants increased coping and self-control skills that allow them to�

Grasp the cognitive misperceptions that may lead to substance use and express a desire not to abuse substances
Understand the sequence of substance abuse and the consequences of using substances
Correct myths concerning substance use
Demonstrate effective communication, coping, and self-control skills
State a commitment to discuss substance abuse with others

If you are a DSHS-funded participant and need to order curriculum for this training, please enter your request for each registrant where it says "Optional comments for the event planner" in the registration process. If you do NOT need to order curriculum, please indicate that as well.

Curriculum / Materials
1. Each individual implementing the program must have a copy of the Project Toward No Drug Abuse Curriculum.
2. If you are eligible for free registration, your curriculum is included.
3. If you are not eligible for free registration/curriculum, you must arrange to purchase a curriculum by calling Phoenix House at (214) 999-1044 prior to the training. The cost for teacher and student manuals can be obtained from Phoenix House. THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Please allow a minimum of 10 days in order to ensure you have your copy at the training.
4. If you already have a copy, please bring your copy to the training.

Coordinated Training Services (CTS) reserves the right to cancel any training for which a minimum of five (5) participants have not pre-registered within 10 days prior to the training.
