Details for "Prevention Staff Training: Enhancing Cultural Competency"
Cultural diversity is discussed, including the definitions of culture
and diversity. Training is done on the importance of cultural respect,
and how to both gain it for yourself and how it is to other
cultures. The exercise uses all of the participants to create
groups representing different cultures. The groups utilize the
cultural respect training to experience the benefit that other cultures
have to offer in completing the group's goal. The cultural diversity
experience is reviewed and discussed as a group.
All NEW direct care prevention staff are required to have this training within
the 6 months of employment.
Coordinated
Training Services (CTS) reserves the right to cancel any training for
which a minimum of five (5) participants have not pre-registered within
10 days prior to the training.
